Summer Reading Picnic

Summer Reading Picnic Hosted at Broome County Library

On August 7th, The Binghamton Poetry Project was proud to offer its second summer reading, hosted at the Broome County Public Library. Poets from both the Adult and Children’s Workshop showcased the poetry that they wrote over the 5 week summer workshop session.
The poets read in the pavilion in library’s garden, surrounded by blooming flowers, green trees, and small children playing in the grass. Many friends and family attended to hear their poet’s most loved poems. Poems ranged in theme from love to loss to a peanut’s relationship with an elephant. Before and after the event, everyone mingled around a picnic table of drinks and snacks, including Abby’s famous cookies.
Stay tuned for our upcoming Fall schedule. Returning in the Fall is also the Poetry Project Anthology and another big reading at Binghamton University. Thanks for continuing to share your poetry with us and each other.
